Breaking: SGO elects new president

The Student Government Organization (SGO) met on Tuesday, March 25 to elect a new president for the rest of the school year.

The previous SGO president, Emmanuel Harvey, has stepped down from his position on the board. The Quill will update this story as further details are made available.

Jakub Smith was elected to be the new president. He ran for office against Claire Wink.

SGO has also began its application process for returning students who would like to become SGO board members. The SGO board is “made up of five new and five returning students” said SGO advisor, Kristie Crumley. Any student may apply for a board position and applications are due back to the Student Life office by April 11.

SGO also welcomed a speaker from Phi Theta Kappa who talked about PTK’s team that will be participating in the Relay for Life event at McDaniel College on April 25.

SGO meetings are open to the public and are every Tuesday at 3:30 in the board room in the library basement.
