Chief of Public Safety and Security Wayne Livesay released a college wide crime alert on Wednesday, April 23, making it known that two thefts occurred on the Washington Road Campus’ parking lot on Tuesday, April 22, between 12:00pm and 2:00pm.

Three vehicles were entered and property was stolen from two of the three vehicles. Security has been working to identify a suspect who they believe is responsible. They backtracked the individual’s movements through the use of campus security cameras.

Livesay says, “We are just looking to confirm what we believe and will, at that time, charge the individual with theft.”

One of the thefts may have been committed as the result of an open window. In the crime alert Livesay informed the campus that “most thefts are a crime of opportunity”, and reminds students and staff to roll up their windows, lock vehicle doors, and hide valuable property.

If you have also been a victim of the theft, have any information, or see suspicious activity, you are asked to report it by dialing extension 8123.

The-Quill will continue to update this breaking story.
