The Campus Activities Board, CAB, continued their Fall 2014 Film Series on Wednesday, September 17 with a showing of the 2014 hit summer movie 22 Jump Street at 7 p.m. in the Scott Center.
22 Jump Street is rated R, and stars Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill as Greg Jenko and Morton Schmidt, two cops who go undercover at a college to investigate and locate a drug supplier. Goofy, brazen shenanigans ensue as Jenko and Schmidt attempt to search for the drug dealers and try to balance their new college lifestyle, and maintain their personal friendship: a relationship Jump Street fans love to see.
These CAB sponsored movies are drawing students and Carroll County citizens alike; local community member Lynda came to see the film with her two sons, Trey (8) and Colton (13). “It’s really nice that they offer these free movies,” Lynda said.
When asked what movies they would like to see played at the Film Series in the future, Colton’s response was, “Godzilla!” Trey added in,”No girl movies!” Trey says he also wants to come back and see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which will be shown October 28).
Along with the film, C.A.B. members are holding a raffle at each movie. Each movie-goer was given a ticket at the beginning of the movie and the winners are announced at the end. The prizes during the showing of 22 Jump Street were a ticket to Hershey Park, and a second ticket for Carroll Community Colleges’ Crab Fest event.
The Fall Film Series will continue on October 14th with X-Men: Days of Future Past at 7pm. All movies are free to attend; and, although participation is not required, a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Carroll Food Locker would be most welcome.
