The Carroll Community College Student Government Organization (SGO) started the semester with their first public meeting on Tuesday. Topics included minor housekeeping decisions, upcoming construction projects and upcoming important dates.
SGO President Lindsay Green addressed the board regarding construction projects discussed at the August Board of Trustees meeting. Projects include the already completed renovation of several offices and classrooms and replacing broken areas of concrete around the building. Green indicated that the process of improving will cause rerouting of pedestrian traffic from September 21 to October 2. Students will need to keep that in mind when going between classes.
Important upcoming dates include September 18, the day when applications to join the SGO are due, and October 5 through the 8, when voting for SGO candidates and amendments to the SGO constitution will take place online. Green and SGO advisor Heather Diehl stated that by voting, students will be entered for a chance to win a free Amazon Kindle.
SGO board meetings are open to the public and are held Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. in the Board Room. The meeting scheduled for September 15 has been cancelled.
